History: ProAct was created through the 2002 merger of two highly effective organizations, Owobopte, Inc., of Eagan, Minnesota and Interstate Rehabilitation Center (IRC) of Red Wing with a satellite in Zumbrota, Minnesota. Sharing a focus on meeting client needs and helping businesses obtain quality employees, Owobopte and IRC, as 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporations, provided employment in the community and at production sites at their facilities.
Mission: “To provide life enhancing vocational and personal growth opportunities for persons with challenges and disabilities.”

Directions to Eagan-- Located on Neil Armstrong Boulevard off Lexington Avenue in Eagan in Dakota County. This is between Yankee Doodle and Lone Oak roads, and near I-35E.

Directions to Red Wing-- Mississippi Boulevard is located near Main Street (Highway 61) in Red Wing, which is located on the Mississippi in Goodhue County. The Red Wing location is easily accessed by clients in Goodhue County, Minnesota and Pierce County, Wisconsin and other western Wisconsin communities.

Directions to Zumbrota-- The ProAct facility in the southern Goodhue County city is located on Main Street, near Highways 52 and 58.
PROACT WINS AWARD!
The Northern Dakota County Chambers of Commerce presented ProAct with a Business Excellence Award for 2004, citing the nonprofit for its record of achievement.
Created 19 years ago, the Business Excellence awards recognize companies that have exhibited growth, excellence, resourceful response to adversity, innovation, community involvement, diversity and adherence to ethical business practices.
After accepting the award from NDC Chambers President Ruthe Batulis, ProAct President Steven Ditschler said “We deeply appreciate this honor from members of the business community. All of us at ProAct work hard to serve those who have barriers to employment.”
He noted that much of ProAct’s success is due to area businesses that provide work opportunities for the organization’s clients.
“We make every effort to provide our business customers with high quality services, and we are pleased to partner with many leading companies in the area."
ProAct received the honor at a gala NDC awards luncheon.
