| Requirements: | *High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required; Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Human Services related field; or two years experience working with people with disabilities preferred. Must pass DHS background study prior to beginning employment. *CPR and 1st Aid training provided once hired. *valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record and insurable at non-risk rates. |
| Job Description: |
The ILS Coordinator assists individuals in developing/increasing independence and enhance their level of self-sufficiency through training and coaching. Individuals served are referred by County staff after they have been determined to be eligible and are accepted to receive services. Primary duties include: Manage and meet weekly with a caseload of individuals receiving services in the 7 County Metro area. Provide information, coaching and support to assist individuals in achieving their goals in all areas of independent living (housing, banking, shopping, budgeting, bill-paying, grocery shopping, community integration, etc.) Assists individuals in identifying resources within the community that fulfill their particular needs. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, comfortable working independently, have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and professionally. ***Company Vehicle Provided for Community-Based Work*** |
