Holiday greetings from ProAct family, joy in service, hope for future

By ProAct President and CEO Judie Foster-Lupkin

As many of us make final preparations for the holidays, we anticipate some of the most important engagements of the year, with family and friends, relaxing, sharing gifts and staying warm.

How fortunate we are at ProAct to connect with people who share our passion. Everyone needs someone in their corner, and we have the families of our participants, the business community, committed staff, funders, vendors and a board of directors that make it all possible.

As 2023 approaches and we look anew to what lies ahead, ProAct is stable and on a growth trajectory. Staff are being added and more participants with disabilities are returning to reap the benefits of our services. We expect to see growth in all our sites, where employee recruitment will open doors for more individuals to join our life-changing programs.

Everyone has potential and desires self-sufficiency, and our role is to make both possible for people with disabilities in our communities. We are very good at teaching the skills needed for jobs, and workforce shortages are opening more doors for the people we serve. Employment services continue to grow, and in-home services are increasing as well.

Our expertise in this field has made individual communities better, bringing happiness and fulfillment to thousands. You may have heard about our GiveMN campaign in support of our new Leisure Center in Eagan. We are over half-way to reaching our goal of $30,000, and hopefully even closer by this time. Coming in 2023, the center will serve people with chronic and changing disabilities, boosting their leisure, contentment and overall fulfillment. We are thankful for your support. That is the spirit of the holiday season.

If you are reading this, chances are you’ve been in our corner, and we are grateful for that. If you are new to ProAct, we welcome you to the fold and look forward to good days ahead. There will always be challenges, but we will weather them together, as we always have.

We wish everyone a wonderful holiday season and much success in 2023.
