Red Wing Anderson Center art play, ‘Socktober’ for United Way, activities, ice cream in Cannon

Participants and staff from ProAct in Red Wing took in the grounds at Anderson Center, a place filled with sculptures to enjoy and interact with.

“We are so fortunate in Red Wing to be surrounded by great parks and art,” said Case Coordinator Gloria Solsaa. “We enjoyed looking at amazing art and even got to play around with them.”

Snack sales help warm feet through United Way

“Socktober” was Red Wing’s fall project, which stemmed from sock purchases made for the United Way. “With donations and money we raised through the snack cart, we were able to purchase and donate over 200 pairs of socks,” said Solsaa. Operated by participants, the snack cart offers food items for sale to participants and staff at ProAct’s Red Wing site.

Loaded with fun, seasonal activities, decorative group activities abound

October was filled with fun and traditions at ProAct in Red Wing. People bobbed for apples, did art crafts, tie-dyed handkerchiefs, had a cupcake walk, baked fall goodies, got their faces painted, carved pumpkins, went to an apple orchard and dressed up for Halloween. “And, oh yeah, we had our awards celebration. Whew!” said Case Coordinator Gloria Solsaa.

Indoor sport, movie action and sweet frozen dairy

Indoor volleyball, thumbs up and waves on a ride to the new movie, “Ticket to Paradise,” and a tasty trip to the CannonBelles Coffee & Ice Cream Shop in Cannon Falls.
