A second ProAct work crew was added recently at Bic Graphic in Red Wing to do de-bagging work, packaging and assembly jobs, explains Designated Coordinator Joyann Johnson.
The company meets with ProAct staff each month to talk about the its increasing business and needs, and how ProAct can help.
Getting participants to ProAct and other places has been difficult during the pandemic, as rules have allowed far less people per vehicle. Still, transportation is opening up more in the southeastern Minnesota town, with ProAct adding a route run by First Student, she said.
Routes were started from Hastings and Cannon Falls, and another was expected to serve Lake City soon. ProAct has also been transporting people to Red Wing from Zumbrota.
For those individuals working independently in the community, many were able to return to work quickly. ProAct was able to provide site checks by phone and, more recently, in-person.
Staff are doing all they can to reengage more participants in programming, Johnson explained.
