At ProAct, we believe that creative expression is a powerful gateway to personal growth, joy, and community connection. In our Red Wing site, music programming continues to be a highlight of the month, thanks in large part to an extraordinary partnership with a local community treasure.

We are proud to highlight our ongoing collaboration with ‘OnSite Music & Arts’, a division of Universal Music Center (UMC) who proudly supports our Red Wing music and arts programming!

Monthly Visits filled with Music, Rhythm, and Smiles

For two visits every month, the talented artists, instructors, and team members from OnSite/UMC visit our Red Wing location to deliver interactive musical experiences and live entertainment crafted specifically for ProAct’s participants. Programs like these, including occasional therapeutic hand massages, courtesy of OnSite Director Lauri Neubert, are of incredible benefit.

From exploring dynamic rhythms and learning about various instruments to participating in sing-alongs and enjoying energetic performances, these visits bring incredible energy to our day support services. Music provides a unique, universal language that inspires creativity and boosts confidence among participants of all abilities.

“Watching our participants light up during UMC’s visits is a highlight for our entire team,” said Gloria Solsaa, Senior Program Manager at ProAct Red Wing.

Why Music Matters in Day Support Services

At ProAct, our day support programs empower adults with disabilities to build skills, forge friendships, and engage meaningfully with their local communities. Integrating regular music experiences brings a great deal to both development and entertainment. Music encourages physical movement and emotional expression, while learning about instruments fosters fine motor development and cognitive engagement. Our partnership with UMC reinforces our communal spirit as we acknowledge music belongs to everyone.

A Shared Mission of Community Engagement

Located at 163 Tower View Drive in Red Wing, Universal Music Center is dedicated to providing high-quality music lessons, specialty programs, and live performance experiences to people of all ages and abilities. Additionally, as a 501©3 non-profit corporation, Universal Music Center’s on-going efforts to secure grant funding to support ‘OnSite Music & Arts’ program and administrative expenses ensures their community outreach programming remains affordable and accessible. Their passion for inclusive community outreach shines through every time they walk through ProAct’s doors.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire team at Universal Music Center and OnSite Music & Arts for their time, talent, and commitment to enriching the lives of our participants.
